It's been a while!

Life has been a tad crazy in our house lately. I am still feeling the wrath of morning sickness. I will have a few great days followed by some super horrible ones, but our sweet little baby is healthy so it's worth it. Both Savannah and Jaxon have been sick on and off and the amount of tissues we have gone through is crazy.

We had a great little Thanksgiving at home with just our little family. Noah's store was pretty busy on Thanksgiving and Black Friday but we loved when he was home with us. We had more than enough food and a giant turkey. We were serenaded by Savannah with songs she learned at preschool and had such a fun day together. I ventured out to a few stores when Noah got home from work and I don't think I will ever brave Black Friday craziness again.

December was great. It was filled with lots of crafts, decorating, baking and a little trip for everyone. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler at my dr visit 2 weeks ago and it was a strong 154! Noah left for a week to Farmington, NM to check out the Hastings store down there. The day before his return the kids and I went down to Utah to meet my new niece Claire and see the rest of my family. We were only there a few days but there was quite a bit packed in. My sister Kara's family stayed at my parent's house too and the cousins had so much fun playing together. Savannah was in love with her new cousin and is now even more excited for a new baby in our home. I loved seeing my sisters, their families, my sister in law and my parents. I was very ready to come home though and we made it back on Christmas Eve.

We had a very calm and happy Christmas. We got up and went to church, then came home, opened presents, watched movies and played games. The day was filled with family time and I wouldn't have it any other way. Noah is quite the princess yatzee player! I loved having my family together and happy to celebrate my favorite Holiday.

We are so excited for the new year and all of the adventures we will have!

Pictures to come soon... I promise.

Due Date Change and Pictures

I got to see our new little baby for the first time a couple weeks ago. He/She is measuring a week smaller than originally expected and had a very strong little heartbeat of 167. When I was at the Dr's this week for a check up I was informed that the due date has been changed in my charts, so I guess it's official. The baby is now due June 12th... my birthday! I swear our little family likes close birthdays. With Savannah and Jaxon having the same due date, I just find this a little funny. Here are the pictures from the ultrasound. I think it looks like a ghost in the second one.

Utah trip

Right before Halloween the kids and I ventured down to Utah while Noah went to Texas for work. We had a fun time seeing my family. I had hopes of seeing some of my friends but of course my kids became sickly and my morning sickness hit pretty hard. We had a lot of down time and got out a couple times when we were feeling a little better.

According to my children, time in Grandpa's truck required wearing hats.

Jaxon and Savannah had a lot of fun playing with toys I enjoyed as a kid.

We made it to the Dinosaur Museum with my parents. Savannah had been asking to go with them for months and we picked a great night. It was practically empty and they were doing free Halloween crafts and face painting. We even caught the Imax movie about Sue the T-rex. It made me jump a few times, but Savannah loved every minute. This was her first Imax movie and she was not disappointed. My favorite Savannah quote was "Mom, look at all the blood!"

Jaxon always needed to know where Kitty was. Jaxon loves Kitty but only likes to look and never touch the cat.

Some quality Grandparent time happened a lot through our trip. Jaxon loves my dad and took his hand and dragged him around everywhere. Our last night there Jaxon really did not feel good. My parents tucked him in and Jaxon was loving it until Kitty jumped onto the bed and Jaxon said his first full sentance... "I wan Kitty go way!"

We got to see my sister and her boys several times while we were there. It was really great to see them. We had lots of fun with games, playing with toys, their new trampoline and just talking. She is always to my rescue when my kids get sick and of course Jaxon started not feeling well when we were at her house.

We had a fun trip and I was very happy that my Dr could send anti nausea meds to a pharmacy in another state. I think this will be our last trip until this morning sickness goes away.

Halloween

I know its a little late, but better late than never, right? We had a great Halloween. Savannah decided to be Cinderella and Jaxon was Woody. The 27th was Savannah's party at Preschool. She LOVED dressing up and debuting her Cinderella costume. On the 29th we had a little party at church with dinner and a trunk or treat. Jaxon really started to get the hang of holding onto his little bucket and walking around.
On Halloween night it was a little cold so we went out for about an hour. Apparently not many kids live on our street and the elderly people loved having someone come to their door. We went halfway down our street and a little bit down another street and our kids both had very full buckets. Jaxon didn't care how heavy his bucket was, he held onto it so tight. Savannah was great at trick or treating and Jaxon picked it up very quickly. He still isn't talking a whole lot, but is picking up a few new words all the time and in the spirit of his costume he very quickly started telling us "Ye-haw," "Howdy, howdy, howdy" and he even said "Thank you" at every door.
We came home, warmed up, changed into jammies and checked out all the candy while watching the Charlie Brown Halloween dvd. It was a very good night and Savannah is already talking about next year.

Baby #3!

We are expecting our 3rd child on June 5, 2012! This was a bit of a surprise to us, but we are very happy. Savannah actually told me the day before we found out, that her sister is in my tummy. Only time will tell, as we have decided we will be waiting to find out the sex of the baby! I went to the Dr on the 21st and everything checked out. We have an ultrasound on Wednesday and I am so excited to see how this little baby is doing. So far I feel terrible and don't remember being this miserable before, although I have also had a cold for the last week.

The Band Perry

September has been a very busy month for our family. Noah's store was being remodeled and between getting Savannah off to school, dr visits and very long days with just the kids, I haven't been posting like I should. However, before all this started Noah and I had a date. I know that shouldn't be post worthy, but the last time we went out just the two of us without kids was my birthday last year. The Band Perry came to Noah's store to do a signing before their concert on September 4th. The record company gave Noah and I tickets and Meet and Greet passes for their show. I was so excited. I love them!! We had such a fun time and it was so great to just be together and hold hands. The band was so nice and genuinely some of the most down to earth people I have met. They are supposed to post the Meet and Greet pictures on their website, but I haven't found it yet. If I ever do, I will post it, but here are some other pics.

So Savannah started preschool a few weeks ago. Here are some photos of the ensemble she put together for the first day. She loves school! She is the oldest in her class and 5th tallest. She has an amazing time.

My Savannah Banana

So I realized I never published my blog post for Savannah's Birthday. She is a very busy girl and keeps me busy too! She planned her birthday and told us that she wanted to go to open presents, play games, go to IHOP for breakfast and then walk around the mall. We had a very fun time together and she was very happy until she saw the cake I made her. At that point she went into histerics and told me i ruined her birthday (She was very tired). Eventually she remembered how much she loves frosting and I showed her how much the cake had on it.

It's been a great year for Savannah. She became a Sunbeam at church, took swimming lessons over the summer and started preschool. She has been a fun big sister to Jaxon and showed him the joys of running laps and screaming around the house. She still loves shopping. For some reason Walgreens is one of her favorite stores and she calls it "baby supermarket." Savannah loves to be silly all the time and can sure make a huge mess in seconds. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals, barbies, my little ponies and littlest pet shop. She is still a super picky eater but it's getting better. Savannah actually ate spaghetti two times in the past month! She is one smart girl and tests at a 6 year old level on many things. We love her a lot and I am so grateful every day at what an amazing blessing she is in my life. I know the next year will be even better!

2 years ago today

Two years ago today our little Jaxon joined our family. I remember it so well and just how much I loved him as soon as I saw him. I loved his cute little mohawk, his perfect face, every finger and toe, everything about him. He was such a quiet baby and I couldn't get enough of him. I wanted to hold him all the time. I remember the ups and downs of when Jaxon and Savannah met. I had this amazing feeling that our family was more complete with Jaxon here.

She quickly realized how much she loved him.

These two years have been wonderful. This sweet little boy has changed our life for the better. He has never ending energy and sure loves to make us smile.
Here a few things about Jaxon right now:

He LOVES Cars, Toy Story and Nightmare Before Christmas

There is always some toy in Jaxon's hands

Jaxon loves to load up the Little People bus with cars and push them around the house

Jaxon is a boy of few words and not much of a talker, but picking up new words quickly

He thinks brushing his teeth is hilarious

Jaxon loves to walk up to strangers, get about a foot in front of them, wave and say "hey-wo" or "see ya," then walk away.

Jaxon loves socks

He loves when Noah comes home from work and runs to him as soon as he hears the door open

He loves doing the actions to "If your Happy and You Know It"

One of his favorite things to do is torment his big sister

Jaxon loves Yo Gabba Gabba, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Super Why

He eats anything... including lipstick

He loves cuddling with his Mommy almost any time of day

Jaxon loves swimming and bath time. Anything with water makes him happy

Hearing "No" makes him giggle

Jaxon loves his alone time and playing in his room with cars or Mr Potato Head

He climbs anything he can and will try to move whatever furniture he can

He loves to give hugs and kissesWe love this little guy and are so happy he is in our family. He is a blessing everyday and always keeps us on our toes.

In a perfect world...

Jaxon would get this for his birthday. This child loves crayons and Lightening McQueen more than anything else in the world.

Although I think he would be willing the settle and share one of these with his sister.

Hagerman Fossil Beds

Back on the 15th of August the kids and I stopped at the Hagerman Fossil Beds on the way to picking up Noah from the airport in Boise. I was SO excited because I have always loved fossils and online it made it seem like there were so many here. There is a breed of horse that was found here (I guess it is more like a Zebra). When we pulled into the parking lot I knew I would be disappointed because the building was so small. My kids however, were not at all and want to go back. They were first greeted outside the building to a sandbox to dig fossils.

They immediately found another sandbox inside.

Savannah became very social with this National Parks lady and they dug together. Savannah was so excited to find out what fossils she "discovered." She also gave Savannah a map that is now one of her prized possessions.
Jaxon did a little discovering on his own.
He found this table full of things he could touch and play with. These are some of the major finds in the fossil beds. I love these and was hoping for a lot more like them. This is the Hagerman horse/zebra.
On the way back to the highway I stopped to see the actual fossil beds. I took a picture of the sign just so I could remember how old the fossils were.

Here are the beds where the fossils were found. I think it's very pretty.
After talking with the National Parks Service people I realized the volume of fossils they had reported online was true, they just were not all on display. Its actually a very small portion set out for the public to see. Maybe we will be able to come back someday and see more.

September :(

September 6th- Savannah starts real preschool. I am excited for her and a little sad. I talked with her about it. She told me she is so excited and I shouldn't be sad because Jaxon and I can play in her room while she is gone. I think this makes me sad because I know this is the beginning of leaving for school. From here on out there will be a time when she isn't with me and she will be off on her own little adventure.

September 15th- Jaxon will be 2! Where the heck did the time go?! I remember being pregnant with him like it was yesterday. He is talking more all the time and watching him play with toys and spend more time doing his own thing makes me realize he needs me less and less.

September 17th- Two days after my heart breaks a little it will break again. If it seems like Jaxon turning 2 is rough, the fact that my sweet little princess is turning 4 is scary. I can't believe in a month I will have a 4 year old.

With the emotional roller coaster my life has been the past month, I am very sad for September.

Swim Lessons

Today was our last day of swim lessons. I have mixed emotions about this. I had a great time in the water babies class with Jaxon, but a heck of a time keeping Savannah in her class. She often liked to wander over to the area of the pool wear Jaxon and I were. It was nice to get out for something scheduled, but the month of bribing coming to a close is a little nice. Needless to say... Savannah did not graduate from her class and will still remain a "Pike." I think it may be a while before she is an Eel. When we got her report card her teacher felt so bad telling me "It's not that she needs work on these skills, she needs to actually do the stuff." Savannah was not a fan of trying much in the class other than talking with other kids, playing the games and holding onto the wall and kicking. Her teacher was a guy fresh out of high school and was so nice, but managing 6 three year olds for 45 minutes has got to be hard.

Waiting in line at the diving board (She chickened out and jumped into her teacher's arms from the side)

Savannah and her teacher, Tyson

Sorry I have no pics of Jaxon and I. Well, I am not that sorry. I'm not a fan of bathing suit shots and the pictures I swear I have of Jaxon from a different day are on a missing sd card. If I find it, I will post them.
