Our trip to Cali!

So I thought I would finally sit down and post about our trip to Southern California earlier this month. We had a great time together and it was so nice to have a little break from everyday life. Here is a photographical timeline of our trip!
Thursday March 4th we started our drive to Las Vegas. We stayed at the Planet Hollywood Hotel again because we love it so much and I can have lots of tomato soup from Earl of Sandwich. We were in the "Eraser" movie themed room and this was our view from our room on the 17th floor.
Savannah loved looking out the window and very quickly could identify the Eiffel Tower, balloon and "water show" at the Bellagio. We have a fun walk up and down the strip and watched the Bellagio water show at least 4 times because Savannah LOVED it! After bath time the kids had some fun rolling around and playing in their diapers and towels on the beds.
Friday we drove to San Diego and spent the evening at Noah's Grandma Gorman's house visiting and catching up with Grandma Gorman and Noah's Aunt Kelly. After a long drive and a screaming Jaxon, we figured he was teething.

Saturday we began the day with a trip to get some ora gel for out little guy. He did not have a good night. We did a little wandering around a few malls before having dinner with Noah's Aunt Bridget. Savannah disappeared for almost the whole evening and played with Noah's 4 yr old cousin Emily. Jaxon liked Noah's cousin Alec a lot.
Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Bongard's house. We stayed there pretty much the whole day and had a fun time just getting to catch up. At this point both our kids were starting to not feel good so we enjoyed having a day of just laying low. Jaxon sure loved his Great Grandma.

Monday we went to the Fashion Valley Mall where I had my much anticipated bra fitting and the Intimacy Boutique. I saw this bra makeover show on Oprah a while ago and when I heard they had a store in San Diego I made Noah promise me we would go. It was very enlightening and I was in a very wrong bra size. I encourage everyone to visit that store!

After the mall we went to dinner at Noah's Aunt Jenny's home. Savannah had a blast with her second cousin Valentina and her Grandma Gale. I think Jaxon's favorite part of the visit was their little dog.

Tuesday was our Sea World day. Sadly it was a little cold and windy. Savannah was a little more sick. She took lots of naps, but seemed happy after a little rest. She LOVED the little Sesame Street Place rides and Noah and I both had to take her on the Abby's Starfish Spin and Oscars Electric Eel rides a few times. Both kids really liked the polar bears and we got some great photos. We even saw "wrestling" polar bears, which gave Noah and I a good laugh.

Wednesday we stayed in for most of the day. By this point both kids were sick and had thrown up. We did not do much until we went to Grandma and Grandpa Bongard's for dinner. Uncle Spencer got to meet Jaxon and hold him through a little nap. Savannah was still not feeling well and actually passed out under the dinner table sitting up against Noah's leg.

Thursday and Friday we went to Disneyland! Savannah was still not feeling fell on Thursday and wanted to ride rides, but we didn't see many smiles. She had a reaction to sunscreen on her face and her face got all red when we met Minnie and Mickey Mouse and then was so tired later in the day that she fell asleep on the bumper cars. She wouldn't eat and was hot in a long sleeve t-shirt so she got a new shirt and a mickey mouse ice cream bar to sooth her throat. We had a much better day on Friday when Savannah gave us lots of smiles. She was happy and excited to see everything. The Gadget go-coaster was a favorite of hers and she loved when we were able to meet up with Noah's old roommate Sam and his family. They have a little girl Savannah's age and the two of them were so cute together. We stayed until after the fireworks. I love Disney fireworks. They get me all emotional and homesick for Florida, but I think watching them by the Walt Statue in front of the Castle and holding my kids with Noah's arm around me, was the highlight of our trip.

Saturday we went to Noah's cousin Houston's wedding. It was very beautiful and luckily our kids did not scream during the ceremony. We had great food and Savannah had a lot of fun chasing around other kids as well as meeting some more of Noah's cousins and family. Jaxon had fun walking around with his Grandpa Tom and seeing more of his Uncle Spencer.Sunday we said our goodbyes. We stopped at his Grandma and Grandpa Bongard's where we got a few more pictures and had breakfast. We then took Savannah to the beach as promised. We were only there for about 20 minutes because it was a little cold and windy, but Savannah loved it! She was so happy. Next time we will have to make our trip in a warmer month so she can have a little more time in the sand. We drove straight home and arrived in the middle of the night. Luckily our kids slept pretty well through the drive. We had a great trip and are excited for the next time we can visit.

6 months!

So over the past few days, we have celebrated a few mile markers. Savannah is now 2 and a half and our little Jaxon is 6 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone, but all I can do is hold my little guy and my sweet Savannah every day and appreciate them. I can't believe how fast they grow and I wish it would slow down just a little so I can appreciate it even more. Noah and I are planning on waiting at least 2 years before we think about another baby and to me that even seems too soon as I want to spend every moment focused on the sweet blessings I have in my life right now. Though Savannah is definitely experiencing the terrible two's and I am having a very hard time getting her to listen and be nice to me, I love her so much. Jaxon just has the sweetest little smile and always makes me happy.

So enough of the sappy stuff and on to the progress reports. Jaxon has been perfecting his sitting up and babbles "dadadada" all the time. He moved out of the bassinet in our room and into his crib when we got back from San Diego on Monday. He is waking up about once a night because he is always a hungry boy and hates a wet diaper, but since he is going to bed around 8:30, its not too bad. I took him to the Dr on Wednesday for his 6 month visit and was told he is very alert, very happy, has a very strong tongue and should be crawling in no time. He is still very average in size, even though I think he looks big. Here are the stats:
Length:26.25 inches-43.44%tile
Weight: 16.93lbs-39.13%tile (although I swear I heard the nurse say 18.1lbs)
Head Circumference: 17.25 inches-51%tile
I will post about our trip to Cali as soon as I find our camera :(
