Jack, the pumpkin king

Tonight we carved our pumpkins. Savannah wanted a Nightmare before Christmas theme and the only template I could find was the Jack pattern on the family fun website. Savannah's pumpkin was so small we figured Zero was the only character that would work so I drew him based off a website's template that charges for their patterns. I think his ears look funny but Savannah was happy. I drew Oogie Boogie too. I think he turned out pretty good. We also had some yummy pumpkin cake for dessert. I love this time of year!
Up next we have a trunk or treat on Friday, Boo at the zoo on Saturday and then trick or treating.

Pumpkin Patch

Wednesday night we took the kids to a local pumpkin patch and corn maze. We had a very fun time!

After a few photos, Savannah led us through the hay bale maze.

We then took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins.Savannah went on the hunt to find one her size.

Jaxon just liked to touch all the pumpkins and walk around.

Savannah got to ride a couple rides.

We got lost in the corn maze for a little while before heading home.
We had a very fun time and are looking forward to next year. We won't forget flash lights the next time around.

4 years!

Four years ago I became Mrs. Noah Bongard. These past four years have been the best of my life. I love him more than ever! Noah has given me more than he will ever know.
I am grateful to truly know what love is. I am so grateful for a husband that has always put taking care of his family first. I am amazed at Noah's work ethic and determination. He is a little headstrong, but that has always worked in his favor especially when finding a new job this summer. Luckily he was only unemployed for 2 weeks and I have to credit that to his persistence and determination.
I am grateful that he gets up with the kids at night, even after long shifts at work. He is amazing! He doesn't mind if the house is a mess, will do the dishes every night and has always done his own laundry. He picks up the kids toys if I am getting them ready for bed and will always rub my feet if I need him to. I really lucked out with this guy! I really love everything about him. He can always make me laugh, smile and feel like I am loved. I could not ask for a better husband and I am so excited for the many years, babies, moves and adventures to come!

Skeletons

After much deliberation Savannah decided that she and Jaxon needed to be skeletons for Halloween. I personally was hoping for Woody and Jesse or some other Disney duo, but Savannah was very sure. We have had their costumes for almost a month because we were worried they would sell out, but kept the receipt in case she changed her mind. After no wavering I decided to try them on the kids tonight and get some photos. I think they are pretty cute. Too bad Jaxon wont wear his hat.

Savannah's costume is a "cutie" skeleton, which is a cross between a skeleton and a ballerina. I think it's weird, but cute in it's own way.

Love this face!!

Savannah's attempt at an angry face

Hope everyone has a happy Halloween!!! We are very excited to carve our pumpkins and trick or treat!

Slipper Season

About a month ago I got the kids some slippers at Target. I let Savannah pick her own. She passed on Dora, Tinker bell and Princesses and decided on Buzz Lightyear "rocket shoes." Sometimes I think she believes they can make her fly the way she runs around in them. Jaxon did not have much of a choice. There was one pair of Lightning McQueen ones and even though they are a little big, he loves them almost as much as I do. Finally the weather is getting cool enough to put them on. Today is a slipper day, so I thought I should share how stinking cute I think they are.
Jaxon sporting his slippers, McKenna (little girl I watch a couple times a week) and Savannah picking out some toys before she heads back to my room. Its a sick day for Savannah today :(

Hair Cut

Much to Noah's dismay, I cut Jaxon's hair yesterday. I decided it was time and I really miss doing his hair. Besides, we can grow it out again some other time. I got Jaxon to sleep and laid him on the couch and cut one side, turned him over and did the other side. I think it turned out pretty cute. I decided to take some pictures while getting the kids ready for bed tonight.

And of course, Savannah needed a photo too! Don't mind the pull-up... it was bedtime.

Favorite Activities

Savannah loves anything to do with arts and crafts. She is getting pretty good at drawing and painting, but due to the opening activity in nursery (play dough and cookie cutters), Savannah has a new favorite thing to do.
Jaxon's favorite thing to do is climb in drawers. Under the stove and the kid dish drawers are his favorite spots.

To cut.. or not to cut?

I love Jaxon's hair, but some days I really wish I could spike it again. Right now it's just too long to do anything with. I think it is super cute in it's own way and I love the little curl it sometimes gets, but I think it looks like a cross between surfer hair and a mullet.
Should I cut it shorter or leave it alone?
