Our Move

We had our internet set up, so I thought I should catch up on the events of our move. Noah came back from Twin Falls on Thursday night and we packed up a little more. Friday morning we picked up the U-Haul truck (they up sized us for free, so it was a huge truck). I took the kids to get my oil changed and for food, while Noah loaded in as many small things as possible. We then tried to entertain the kids with snacks, a movie and a baby gate, while we moved the big furniture.
Once the truck was loaded I was supposed to meet Noah at a gas station and headed off thinking he was right behind me. I waited about 15 minutes before taking a fearful drive back. I was thinking the worst and hoping I wasn't going to find him in an accident. Turns out the truck never turned on and the battery was dead. It was going to be $100 for u-haul to jump it, so we decided to give it a try. We hooked up jumper cables where we were told and it took forever. 2.5 hours later, Noah called u-haul back and they suggested we try jumping in a different part of the engine. Worked right away!!We unloaded after our 2 hour drive to Twin Falls and were very tired! We returned the truck Saturday morning.

Saturday I noticed Jaxon had a little rash on his chin. Of course I became a little worried and Noah thought it was just from him sliding down the stairs and rubbing his chin. Then after church on Sunday I noticed the rash was spreading to his back, starting on his legs and all over his arms. I was thinking he was allergic to the carpet or something at our new place. I was trying all kinds of creams, meds, whatever I could find that I thought could help.

We had to go back to Nampa on Monday to clean our apartment, have our walk through with the landlord and get Noah's car, so I called our Pediatrician there and had Noah take the kids while I cleaned. Turns out Jaxon has fifth disease and there are no distinct symptoms until the rash comes. By the time the rash shows up, the child is no longer contagious. Sorry if we gave it to someone. I really had no idea. The rash still looks so bad and will take 1-3 weeks to clear. Jaxon hardly notices it, but still has a bad cough keeping him up at night. Soon I hope we are settled in and all healthy. A girl can dream!

Pictures of our place will come soon. I just want to organize a little more. I am excited to get the rest of our things from my parent's basement. These 2 weeks with out a washer and dryer are going to be interesting. We will be headed to Utah on the 27th!

Hi Holly! I love the internet. I think it makes me realize just how small of a world it is out there. I have known Vicky for a while. She was one of my Young Women's leaders in Florida and I had her give me some tips on where to live here. We are loving our move so far and happy to be here. :)
