Packing

We move a week from tomorrow and I want to make sure everything is done. I may be a little ahead of myself, but I have already packed quite a bit. The kids are enjoying the boxes too, just in a little different way. I guess with how many toys I have packed, they needed something to play with.

Update on life

Noah left again this morning after being home less than 36 hours. I am so happy to be moving and to be with him more. Everything is set with our new place and it looks like Noah will be back here in Nampa on the 10th and we will pack up a truck and move on the 11th. Sadly, I know life we not be put together by the 14th so I have planned a very box friendly and low key Valentine's Day for our little family. Savannah is so excited and we will be sending out her valentines soon. We took a trip to Hobby Lobby today to get some things to make Noah a present. Savannah LOVES Hobby Lobby!

I am nervous to see how Jaxon does in our new place because there are 2 sets of stairs and he is a climber! I wont be able to hide our chairs in the bathroom anymore and I know there will be some serious baby proofing going on asap after the move. Right now he loves to move furniture to climb. He pushes Savannah's nightstand all over and can get on the counters, table, washing machine, dressers, etc. I think he is one of the most active 16 month old kids I have seen.

Our kids are great, healthy and happy. Savannah is really happy she will get her own room again and she keeps telling us she wants a "Hello Kitty room." She points out everything she sees that would fit the theme for her new room. So far she has a Hello Kitty cd player and lamp. There will soon be wall stickers and maybe a bedding change.

Instead of New Year's resolutions I have been waiting for New Move Resolutions. Coming soon will be a better routine, Jaxon loosing his bink and many, many more changes. Fresh starts are always nice and I promise I will start taking more pictures.

Twin Falls

In the next few weeks we will begin our adventure to Twin Falls. It is a little more than 2 hours from where we live now, so the move won't be too bad. Noah has been there most of the past 3 months and I am excited we will be seeing more of him soon.

Over the past weekend the kids and I joined Noah for a little house hunting expedition. We looked at a lot of places and I became very worried about finding a place. There were quite a few fixer-uppers and many not safe for children. Luckily there were 2 places that we knew would work for us. Both landlords had several other applicants but somehow we were their first choices, so we got to pick. There was the perfect house, a little off the beaten path and out of town vs. a slightly more dated place with a huge fenced backyard and very close to Noah's work. We chose the latter. Paperwork will be signed on the 1st and the moving process will begin. I am starting to plan my packing strategies and when we will get our stuff out of my parent's basement in Provo.

I have never lived in a place where the mall has no Gap or children's clothing stores, but that is why God helped man create online shopping I guess. A lot of the town is older, but there is a Target, Costco, new Walmart and anywhere with a Five Guys and a Buffalo Wild Wings can't be bad. We drove by a few trails and saw great views of the bridge and a waterfall. Savannah was so excited! I am excited for more space and for our children to be back in their own rooms. I can see a lot of good coming out of this move. Plus, the landlord said we can have pets... I see a dog or at least a hamster in the near future (but we will have to see what Noah says).

Our tubes experience

Tuesday we went to the ENT and within seconds of looking at Jaxon's ears he said he needed tubes and they were scheduled for Wednesday morning. It's sad and a little gross, but the Dr said Jaxon's case with his ears and all the infections was that his ears were not draining at all. Behind his ear drums was a large amount of puss and every time he was put on antibiotics the puss would become liquid, but still would not drain. This meant that when the antibiotics wore off, the fluid turned back to puss, causing another infection.

Jaxon was the first to be operated on for the morning. We had to arrive at the hospital in Boise at 6:30, so we were up and out the door by 5:50. After paper work and a whole lot of waiting the Dr came at 8:15. The procedure only takes about 5 minutes. They brought Jaxon right to me and said that he did great.

I received MANY warnings from nurses, friends and family that when kids wake up from anesthesia is a nightmare. Every nurse told me I was going to have my hands full since Jaxon would probably scream a lot and I had Savannah with me too. Savannah was fine and has found a new love for my Nintendo ds. She played Dora games and loved that I brought her headphones. With her entertained I was ready for the worst while Jaxon was still passed out in my arms. He slept a bit longer than most kids and when he woke up he grabbed his binky and his Woody doll and then gave me a hug and cuddled up with me. No tears, no screaming at all! I actually got a smile pretty fast. He is one tough boy! No sounds for his circumcision and then again for his ear tubes.

So far so good. He is very happy and sleeping pretty well.

Jaxon's week

Monday we went back to the Dr because Jaxon was running fever (103.6). I was not surprised that he had another ear infection. This means the next step is tubes. We have a consult with an ENT on Tuesday and are hoping there is a quick turn around for the surgery. We are excited for a healthier and happier baby boy.

Though Jaxon was still on an antibiotics the Dr had us come back for his scheduled well visit on Friday. Between not having insurance until November and all this sickness, we have rescheduled his 1 year visit many times. Poor Jaxon had to have 6 shots because he needed both his 12 and 15 month shots. He was not too happy about that, but quickly recovered with a Happy Meal.

He is one growing boy and oh so sweet. I LOVE this guy! Friday night Jaxon was caught about to fall over the side of his crib twice, so we made some changes. Yesterday the front side of the crib came down and the toddler rail went up. Jaxon is in heaven now. I keep finding him sitting or laying on his bed with things he gathers around the house (mainly buzz toys). He slept ok last night for a few hours but around 3 I heard him crying and found him standing in the middle of the room after a failed attempt at waking up Savannah.

Sunbeam!

Today at church Savannah moved up from Nursery to the Sunbeam class (3 yr old Sunday school). She was very excited and has been singing the "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam" song all week. All through the first hour of church she would ask if it was time yet.

She took her seat in Primary pretty well. At one point during singing time, Noah peeked in the window and saw her crying. Her teacher said she was good in the the end, which was a relief.

We asked Savannah what her lesson was on. This was the conversation...

Savannah: I am a child of God

Me: Are you a child of God Savannah?

Savannah: No, my crown is a child of God
