September :(

September 6th- Savannah starts real preschool. I am excited for her and a little sad. I talked with her about it. She told me she is so excited and I shouldn't be sad because Jaxon and I can play in her room while she is gone. I think this makes me sad because I know this is the beginning of leaving for school. From here on out there will be a time when she isn't with me and she will be off on her own little adventure.

September 15th- Jaxon will be 2! Where the heck did the time go?! I remember being pregnant with him like it was yesterday. He is talking more all the time and watching him play with toys and spend more time doing his own thing makes me realize he needs me less and less.

September 17th- Two days after my heart breaks a little it will break again. If it seems like Jaxon turning 2 is rough, the fact that my sweet little princess is turning 4 is scary. I can't believe in a month I will have a 4 year old.

With the emotional roller coaster my life has been the past month, I am very sad for September.

Swim Lessons

Today was our last day of swim lessons. I have mixed emotions about this. I had a great time in the water babies class with Jaxon, but a heck of a time keeping Savannah in her class. She often liked to wander over to the area of the pool wear Jaxon and I were. It was nice to get out for something scheduled, but the month of bribing coming to a close is a little nice. Needless to say... Savannah did not graduate from her class and will still remain a "Pike." I think it may be a while before she is an Eel. When we got her report card her teacher felt so bad telling me "It's not that she needs work on these skills, she needs to actually do the stuff." Savannah was not a fan of trying much in the class other than talking with other kids, playing the games and holding onto the wall and kicking. Her teacher was a guy fresh out of high school and was so nice, but managing 6 three year olds for 45 minutes has got to be hard.

Sorry I have no pics of Jaxon and I. Well, I am not that sorry. I'm not a fan of bathing suit shots and the pictures I swear I have of Jaxon from a different day are on a missing sd card. If I find it, I will post them.

Family Walk

So a few days before Noah headed to Denver we went on a walk by the Perrine Bridge. Savannah LOVES this bridge and thinks it is the coolest thing ever. Here are a couple pictures.

As of late...

I just realized it's been about 2 weeks since I posted on here. Jaxon was sick all of last week with an awful virus (according to the Dr). He had really high fevers and lots of tummy issues for the entire week. Luckily it went away on Monday. We spent a lot of time inside while he was sick. Jaxon was happy as long as he had Cars to play with and Savannah did a lot of laps on her new scooter. We had a fun 4th of July with our family. We didn't do anything special, but I had a good time with my kids and hubby. We went to the grocery store, had dinner, rented movies and watched fireworks. I had a fun little conversation with Savannah about why we celebrate July 4th. She was very excited to know it was America's Birthday!

We have mixed emotions about the hot weather. We have no air conditioning in this house and it gets very hot! At this point I have to tell myself every day that we wont be here forever and it's only a couple months of summer. We get outside to play when the kids are both happy and up for it. We have a big fenced backyard and the kids love wandering around and playing in the blow up pool. Of course there always are Popsicles.

We have also been going to the YMCA pool when Noah gets off work. The kids are loving it and I am amazed at how much Jaxon has started to love water. He would cling onto me with a death grip but now he loves the slide, splashing, and gets irritated that I have to hold him still in deeper water. Both kids are starting swim classes next week. Savannah will be going to actual lessons and Jaxon and I will be going to a water babies class. I am excited to see how they do... and to get myself a better tan.

Jaxon in the drawer

Noah put Jaxon to bed while I was working out. I went to check on him before hopping in the shower. I popped my head in his room and found him asleep in his dresser drawer. At least it's the drawer of extra bedding. I had to take a couple pictures before moving him back to his bed. He is such a funny boy!

Sickness, birthday, father's day

So while we were in Utah I noticed Jaxon was getting sick. He just didn't seem like himself and was sleeping way more than usual. A couple days after we got back to Twin Falls, he still was not feeling better. He pretty much just wanted to lay on me or this giant teddy bear.
I found a pediatrician in town and brought Jaxon in. He had his first ear infection since getting tubes put in his ears in January. Then the sickness went around our house. It was not very fun. We spent a lot of time watching movies and didn't get out much. Savannah rarely gets sick. She spent a lot of time doing crafts, playing games on the computer and playing dress ups.

Luckily whatever sickness that spread around our house didn't hit Noah and I until after my birthday because we were asked to speak in church. Church at 8am is not fun, but speaking that early with sick kids and on your birthday, makes the whole thing a lot less fun. The rest of the day was filled with a couple phone calls, folding laundry, making lunch and dinner and feeling a little sorry for myself so I made some brownies and had Savannah sing happy birthday to me. Lets hope next year is better.

After a week of being sick we finally got out on Friday night and took the kids to the drive-in. We didn't get home until 1:30, but we had fun cuddling up in the car watching "Mars needs Moms" and the new Pirates movie.

Savannah was very excited for Father's Day and loved making a few things for Noah. We had a very relaxed day with yummy dinner and treats and luckily the kids were happy and had a lot of fun playing with Noah. He is such a great dad!

Weekend in Utah

Last week my sister sent me an e-vite to my nephew Kaden's baptism. I wasn't sure we would be able to get down there, but I am glad we did. Noah had to work, so it was just the kids and I. We drove down Friday morning and met my Mom in West Jordan for her work bbq. The kids had a great time on the awesome playground there before we headed down to Provo.

Saturday we went to Kaden's baptism and spent the rest of the day with my sister's family. I love this kid and I am so proud of him!

The rest of our trip was filled with time relaxing outside,

relaxing inside,

giant bubble baths,

Jaxon saying "hello" to everything in sight,

time with grandma,

time with grandpa,

and lots of chasing the cats.

We had a great time and were sad to go on Monday. We made it home just in time before Jaxon became more sick and miserable.
